The Healthy ConnectionsPodcast

Hey friend! I’m Melissa and I’m obsessed with cheering on other women in this thing called life. I’m all about grabbing a cup of coffee, having healthy conversations, and making strong connections with others as we walk through what life brings.

I’m a wife, homeschooling mom of 3, online nutrition and fitness coach, and the creator of the 57 Simple group coaching program where I make fitness and nutrition SIMPLE even though the world makes us believe it's hard.

The Healthy Connections podcast is here to connect you to other women who have found their purpose in life and are going for it! It’s here to connect you with healthier options for your family through Fitness to Nutrition and to help you in creating healthier connections with your children and those you love! We are creating those healthy connections through conversation, community, and a little bit of coffee. I want you to come as you are and celebrate your wins with us.

When you come to sit at the table with me every Wednesday, it is my hope and my prayer that you are left feeling inspired and ready to tackle the rest of your week with your head held high. I will be cheering you on as you go after those health and fitness goals. I will help you recognize how to find the happiness in all of your relationships. We want to help you honor the body God has give you physically so that you can overcome what life throws you mentally so that you can shine your light! Sound good?! Okay my friend, grab a cup of coffee, a jug of water, or your fave kombucha…put on those cozy socks and those yoga pants and welcome to the conversation at the Healthy Connections Podcast!

Top 10 Tips for Women Who Have Been Diagnosed with a Chronic Condition

EPISODE 34: I want to talk to you about my Top 10 tips for women who have been diagnosed with a chronic condition! It is sad, but it seems that every time I turn around or turn on my IG or FB that someone else is being diagnosed with something and as someone who has lived with MS for almost 14 years now, I want to shed some light on the fact that while it is devastating in many ways to receive a diagnosis, your diagnosis does not define you and you can fight back.

I hope you find these tips helpful and you'll consider sharing them with a friend.

[Her Story] with Jamie Santagate

I had the pleasure of interviewing Jamie Santagate, RN and owner of IVein about the mobile IV vitamin infusion business she has started. I have received an infusion from Jamie myself and when I posted about it on social media, I received a number of messages asking me about it, so here are all the answers you could possibly want and then some ;)

As someone with Multiple Sclerosis, it is important to me to know the ingredients of something going right into my blood stream and (hopefully) that is important to you too.

Can anyone open this kind of business? Is it safe? Is it effective? Does it really help?Tune in and hear all about these IV infusions you may be seeing out there and then see if it's right for you!

[Her Story] Marielle Pitts, NP-C

Marielle and I chatted about all the things today; migraines, anxiety, gut health, bowel movements...you name it, we chatted about it.

Bigger than the issues though, we talked about functional medicine and its place in the healing process. Getting to the root cause of the issues at hand versus slapping bandaids on everything is the mission for Marielle and her business.

We both have the same philosophy; find the root cause and treat the root cause with exercise and nutrition. Medications certainly have a time and a place, but so much can be accomplished through nutrition and fitness. It is fundamentally that simple, but yet (sometimes) complex to execute.

She gets real about her health struggles, the struggles she had while working as an NP in the hospital and doctor's office, as well as walking through her dad's diagnosis and ultimate passing from Parkinson's Disease.

Don't miss this one and be sure to share with someone who would benefit from hearing it.
